Fog & Blooms @ Gold Coin

Location: Historic Mining Town of Victor, Colorado

Due to the heavier snows and rains this year, there was a great variety of colors and species in the natural garden at Gold Coin Hoist. Fog one morning really enhanced the brilliant colors. I used a bit of masking fluid in a variegated wash to make a number of them stand out in a pattern that lead the eye into the painting. As I painted, I contemplated the contrast of the fragile living flowers and the heavy, rusted metals.
